Living Christmas Trees
Some of you may be planning to order a "living Christmas tree" this year--that is, one you will plant into your landscape. Be advised it is wise to prepare its planting hole before the soil freezes. After digging the hole, fill it with mulch to prevent freezing, and place the fill dirt in a container in the garage or basement. If you intend to decorate your living tree and put it in the house, remember that its chance of survival after planting is directly related to the length of time spent in the house.
