Miscellaneous

Q - Recently I mail ordered some butterfly bushes that were advertised in the coupon sections of my Sunday paper. The company is the New Holland Bulb Co. and unfortunately I have never received my bushes. Now I am trying to track down this company and find out why I did not receive my order. The problem is that I cannot find this company anywhere on the Internet. I don't remember where I sent the order and I didn't save the advertisement. If you could help me Iwould appreciate it very much. An address or phone number would be helpful.

A - After searching I found two New Holland Bulb Companies. Their addresses are listed below. I suspect the company you ordered from is the one in Illinois. Also, here is a website that might provide interesting reading.  Thanks for the question, and good luck!   http://pbmfaq.dvol.com/list/newholland.html

Q - This is not really garden related, but it is a problem with green stuff.  Our north steps look pretty bad from all of the moss growing on them and they are slippery!  Any suggestions for killing the stuff? The carriage house wall is also growing some green stuff that even is growing in the sun. Probably it is not the same, but maybe. Anyway, what do you think? Any suggestions? -- from M.F.

A - Saturate the area with copper sulfate mixed in water (1 Tablespoon per gallon of water) to get rid of the moss
