Out of the Ordinary Project?

Have you ever seen a hovercraft?  Did you know that they are widely used in certain regions of the world?  How do they work?  Building a model hovercraft can be a great challenge unless you know where to start.  One site to check out shows three different models on person built.  One of the is even a rubberband powered model.  The site is Model Hovercrafts and says that these rubberband model kits are available in hobby stores.   Another site explains how a class built a working hovercraft - School Project.  If you want the instructions for building the hovercraft shown in the School Project, visit Building a Hovercraft.  If you are doing this as a science fair project, I'm sure you will need to be able to explain how a hovercraft works.  You can visit your local library for books that explain how a hevercraft works, or surf the Net!  One place to look is Hovercraft for a brief description.   If you find you would like to make this a hobby, check out Hoverclub of America!
