Put on a Puppet Show!
With the weather being wet and blustery, playing outside is not always an option. It is usually during this time that parents get to hear the ever-popular phrase "I'm bored!" escaping from their children's brains and fleeing out their mouths only to irritate the parents. When boredom strikes, why not put on your own puppet show and provide your parents or friends with a little entertainment? Stage Hand Puppets is a great starting place for kids new to making paper finger puppets, origami stick puppets, and hand shadows! A few patterns are available for kids to print, cut out, and tape to make a quick puppet. Performance tips are offered so kids will be able to put on a super show. There is also an On-Line Theater with a list of plays that have been written by other kids. You can even write your own play and submit it to be included on that list! You would be surprised what you can make with a few scraps found around the house. The Scrap Puppets area has many suggestions about what you can make. Making puppets and putting on a puppet show can turn into a long project if you let your creativity flow! For those of you who would rather concentrate on writing the plays, check out Writer's Resource Page for resources, guidelines, and writing contests. Let the show begin!
