Ham-Potato and Cheese Casserole

3/4 lb.cooked ham, cut into small pieces 1/4 tsp pepper
1 small onion, finely cut 1 C sharp cheese, grated
4-5 potatoes, thinly sliced 1 C milk
3 T flour 2 T butter
1/2 tsp salt  
  • Layer half the ham, onion and potatoes in a casserole dish.
  • Mix the flour, salt, pepper and cheese; sprinkle half over the ham and potatoes in the dish.
  • Repeat the layers.
  • Heat milk and butter together: pour over the casserole.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
  • Uncover to brown; bake until the potatoes are tender (about 25 minutes longer).
  • Makes 4 servings.
