Mother's Divinity
(Mother - Frances Asbell, Bedford, IN)
| 1/2 C water | 2 C sugar |
| 1/2 C light corn syrup | 1 egg white, stiffly beaten |
- Cook the water, corn syrup, and sugar to the hard ball stage.
- Meanwhile beat the egg white until stiff.
- Add the syrup mixture to the egg white
- Beat until the mixture loses its gloss.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper.
- Optional: If you like, you may mix in chopped walnuts, pecans, or candied cherries before the last step.
