Pretty! And wonderful for teas or parties!
Butter Cookies
| 1 C butter | 1/2 C powdered sugar |
| 2 C cake flour | 1/2 tsp salt |
| 1 tsp vanilla | 1/3 C finely chopped nuts (optional) |
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla.
- Mix the flour and salt together (and nuts). Add to the creamed mixture.
- Form in long rolls about 2" in diameter and wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate overnight.
- Cut slices 1/4" thick. Garnish with a pecan half or a piece of candied cherry, if desired.
- Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes.
- Frost with a powdered sugar frosting if desired.
