Chocolate and Mint--A Great Combination!
Chocolate Mint Brownies
| 1/2 C butter | 2 1-oz sq. melted unsweetened chocolate |
| 1 C sugar | 1/2 C sifted flour |
| 2 eggs | 1/2 C chopped walnuts |
| 1 tsp vanilla | Mint frosting and Chocolate Glaze |
- Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in chocolate. Stir in flour, then the nuts.
- Pour into a greased 8" x 8" pan. Bake at 350° about 25 minutes.
- Cool. Spread with frosting; let set. Then spread with glaze.
- Cut in 2" x 3/4" bars.
Mint Frosting
| 1 C sifted powdered sugar | 1 T light cream |
| 2 T soft butter | 1/2 tsp peppermint extract |
- Combine the ingredients and beat well.
- Spread over the brownie layer and let stand until set.
Glaze
| 1 1-oz square unsweetened chocolate | 1 T butter |
- Melt the chocolate with the butter. Spread over the frosting.
- Chill until firm.
